Amy Funkenstein, MD

 Dr. Funkenstein is a Harvard and Brown trained psychiatrist who treats adults, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety, perfectionism and OCD.  Dr. Funkenstein attended medical school at UMass medical school in Worcester, MA and then completed her general psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard medical school and later her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, Warren Alpert Brown School of Medicine.

Dr. Funkenstein started treating patients with OCD and related disorders during her child psychiatry fellowship and later worked at the OCD intensive treatment program at Bradley hospital in Providence, RI before moving to Boston. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts Medical school where she supervises residents and teaches medical students. Dr. Funkenstein focuses on family-centered treatment and interventions and specializes in therapies and medication management related to OCD, anxiety, panic, perfectionism, trichotillomania, skin-picking and other related disorders.

Dr. Funkenstein has received several teaching awards from Harvard and Tufts medical students and residents and has published articles related to medical ethics and mental health parity.
