Amy Funkenstein, MD
Dr. Funkenstein is a Harvard and Brown trained psychiatrist who treats adults, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety, perfectionism and OCD. Dr. Funkenstein attended medical school at UMass medical school in Worcester, MA and then completed her general psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard medical school and later her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, Warren Alpert Brown School of Medicine.
Dr. Funkenstein started treating patients with OCD and related disorders during her child psychiatry fellowship and later worked at the OCD intensive treatment program at Bradley hospital in Providence, RI before moving to Boston. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts Medical school where she supervises residents and teaches medical students. Dr. Funkenstein focuses on family-centered treatment and interventions and specializes in therapies and medication management related to OCD, anxiety, panic, perfectionism, trichotillomania, skin-picking and other related disorders.
Dr. Funkenstein has received several teaching awards from Harvard and Tufts medical students and residents and has published articles related to medical ethics and mental health parity.

Deanna Fiore, N.P.
Deanna Fiore is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 14 years of nursing
experience across various settings, including critical care, inpatient psychiatry, research nursing at
McLean Hospital, and a residential program for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental
disorders. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy
and Health Sciences and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Deanna treats children, adolescents, young adults, and families with complex psychiatric, behavioral,
and psychosocial challenges. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in outpatient, inpatient,
emergency, and school settings. Deanna specializes in therapies and medication management targeting
anxiety disorders, ADHD, and executive function deficits. This expertise extends to evidence-based
treatment for a range of conditions, including depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, and
trauma-related disorders, among others.
Deanna’s approach is holistic, strength-based, and collaborative. She values open communication and
empowers her patients to take an active role in their treatment journey. With additional training in
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and
commitment therapy (ACT), Deanna integrates various techniques to provide customized therapy that
aligns with the unique needs of her patients. As an adjunctive treatment, Deanna offers individual
coaching to optimize executive function skills, enhance self-confidence, and boost self-esteem. When
working with children and adolescents, Deanna partners closely with parents to guide them in effective
parenting strategies and gain a deeper understanding of their child's unique needs.
When Deanna isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, two
children, their black Lab, and two new kittens! Traveling is a passion of hers, but she also finds solace in
the familiar comforts of home. She and her family enjoy summertime on the Cape but are always ready
for ski season to start. Apart from family and adventures, Deanna likes reading, baking, watching rom-
coms and 80’s movies, and gathering with loved ones for Sunday Brunch.

Emily Mills, Practice Manager
Emily recently joined as the Practice Manager. She was home-schooled and is fluent in English and Japanese. She has obtained extensive experience in administrative work and played a key role in launching a successful consulting business, which provides educational support services to gifted children. Recently, she has attended Middlesex Community College, where she joined the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society and continues her education at Harvard with a focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. She has volunteered at M.C.I. Framingham as well as Emerson Hospital for several years, providing peer support and resources for those suffering from anxiety, depression, and substance abuse disorder.
Emily works closely with clinicians to ensure our patients and families receive quality care. She provides support to our clients navigating the intake process, scheduling, and online services, while building systems that allow us to operate more efficiently. Her kind and gentle demeanor provides our families with a sense of ease during a challenging time in their lives.
As she continues her studies, she hopes to further explore the relationship between AI and mental health. Outside of work, you will find her soaking up all that nature has to offer with her fiancée and son. She enjoys practicing gymnastics, playing golf, listening to live music, traveling, and cooking.
